One of the things I love about living in Brisbane is the amazing number of cultural and community events and festivals we have. I love the colour, the food, the vibes and the fact that we're celebrating a little slice of our beautiful city. One amazing event that is just around the corner is the West End Street Art Festival.

This is Australia's first dedicated festival and market celebrating urban art and design. The main feature of the festival is the amazing street art murals created by some of Australia's most talented artists. The are all fun, fabulous and definitely worth looking at. These beautiful murals will be appearing in West End, along Boundary and Russell Street.

 The festival will culminate in a market to celebrate these amazing artworks and will take place on Saturday the 22nd of October. The markets will be a mix of market stalls, live music, street food, walking tours, live painting and interactive workshops. The festival also aims to raise $10,000 for Orange Sky Laundry, a Brisbane-based organisation helping homeless youths. Tickets are $5 pre-sale (bargain!) and $10 on the day AND I have a whole bunch of passes to give away to lucky Brisbanites. I've been a "vegetarian" for over a year now and I'm always on the hunt for new vegan/vegetarian cafes in Brisbane. The reason I say "vegetarian" is that I occasionally eat seafood but am currently off eggs and dairy. It all gets a bit confusing but it's much easier to just say vegetarian.

Anyway, my most recent find with Kate from The Minted Blog is The Green Edge in Windsor. The Green Edge is not only an amazing vegan cafe, but also a little vegan grocery store. I say little but it's actually Brisbane's largest. 

The cafe serves breakfast, lunch and a selection of amazing takeaway sandwiches and vegan treats, including milkshakes and raw cheesecakes. Kate and I stopped by for lunch and although the wait was a little long, the staff were amazingly friendly and the food was delicious. We both had the Jackfruit Burger which takes exactly like pulled pork, yum! Absolutely everything at The Green Edge is vegan but I would challenge even the most staunch carnivore not to enjoy themselves.

Even if you aren't vegan, The Green Edge is worth a visit if you like to give your tastebuds a treat and  try new things.

If you've read my post on Invisalign, you'll know that my teeth have always been a bit of an issue. When I finally finished my Invisalign treatment (hallelujah!), I was so happy with how straight my teeth were but they still had a bit of a yellow tone. It didn't bother me too much, but when PureSmile offered me a chance to experience their Signature Treatment, I was all too happy to accept.

 PureSmile Brisbane is located at Westfield Garden City, right near H&M. Although it's in the middle of the shopping centre, the little pods ensure that you have an extremely private experience. This is definitely a good thing as you don't look pretty during the experience!

The Signature Treatment involves three 20-minute rounds of peroxide treatment under and LED light followed by one non-peroxide round. You also have to wear a fabulously fun cheek stretcher to keep your mouth open. Despite all that, the actual treatment was surprisingly relaxing. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable and made the whole experience really easy.

My teeth weren't horribly yellow but the treatment managed to pick my teeth up about 5-6 shades and completely get rid of the yellow tone that I hated.I had a really relaxing time in my little pod, listening to tunes on the kick ass Sony headphones that PureSmile provides AND I even had a little privacy curtain to stop Nosey Nigels from oggling me.
